Day 221 of 364 - Sun 3/11: Trip #11 -- Copenhagen, Denmark -- Malmo, Sweden

Word of the day:   Brug  (Bridge)

Today we took the train across across the 5 mile bridge that connects Denmark to Sweden-- the cities of Copenhagen to Malmo.  The Øresund Bridge is the longest combined road and rail bridge in Europe.

Then on our way back before we head to the airport we decided to stop and get coffees. We saw a place called Oscar, which happened to be the name of the place we had lunch yesterday so we figured it would be a good place to relax for an hour. (Similar to a Panera)

Here is where it gets a little strange... We find an open little lounge area and take a seat. We are sitting and sitting and sitting, no one is coming up to us to take our order. I then notice a couple next to us who happen to be gay. Then I notice a section over 4 women who also look to be gay. So I keep moving my eyes and totally realize we are in a gay bar! So no big deal, but we still have not gotten any service and have been sitting here for a good 10-15mins now. Servers have even just cleaned the table next to us and didn't ackowledge us.

Kim and I are now under the impression that they do not want us here since we are not gay couples. Right after the server leaves Jamie says, "I am getting stares." Kim and I kind of laugh and mention for him to turn around and look to see that we are in a gay bar. He does and we all kind of laugh and don't know if we should stay or go. Sooooo funny, bc just then the server comes back to our area and asks if we are going to order anything, and then lets us know we need to go up to the bar to place our order! HA...LOL!!!

Turns out the servers here only bring food and clear the tables!  Definitely one of those akward moments, and not know the language didn't help!!
