Word of the day: Wijnmakerij (Winery)
This weekend we are staying in Maastricht, but there is still plenty for us to see and experience! Afterall, I am sure everyone can picture European cityscapes, with the close buildings on all the winding roads... plenty of nooks and crannies still to check out!
Today, we went to a local winery in the heart of the city center. The wine caves are all below the streets of the city and are the city's oldest, dating back to 1740. They have since updated the cellars and are now able to accommodate events/parties of 100+ ppl.
And of course... we preferred the reds during the tasting! (** But none even came close to our favorite Raymond from Napa!) Cheers!
